My  biggest idol when it comes to drawing - Albert Uderzo - passed away yesterday. As a young man my father collected Asterix comics and i grow up on them with all their greatly designed characters, beautiful landscapes and perfectly tapered ink lines. To this day his brushstrokes are what is running through my head, when i'm i inking a drawing.

These days i'm reading the comics my father bought to my own son, and he has a veritable Asterix fever! As i'm writing this he's having a bedrime story read to him while dressed as the spanish chief from "Asterix goes to Spain" and i can hear him yell "Olé!" It the greatest thing in his life.

Asterix is the ultimate when it comes to french comics thanks to René Goscinny's ingenious stories filled with wit, humor and historical treats and Uderzo's brilliant art.

To be able to draw so correctly, thouroughly designed, clean etc. and still make it look fresh, charming and easy as cake is to pull off the impossible.

Rest in peace and thank you, master.
